I guess you can say I'm a chick who likes to make things, lots of things.

My glass obsession started in college, when I took a 'make it and take it' stained glass class at the campus craft center. Many years later I discovered lampwork beadmaking and found myself instantly hooked. Of course getting a kiln for my beads enticed me to try fusing, and making beads leads right into jewelry making. In case my glass addiction didn't keep me busy enough, about the time I was becoming an empty nester a girlfriend encouraged me to take a pottery class she was teaching, and I found myself hooked on yet another medium. When I can I like to meld my interests into mixed media pieces!

When I'm not working my day job doing biology research or working on my art projects, my favorite thing to do is explore the world around me. Living in Utah with theWasatch mountains right in my back yard gives me plenty of opportunity to get out in nature,  any I enjoy the out of doors whenever I can. Hiking, skiing, biking, birding, soaking (hot springs!), photo safari-ing.  Mother Nature is the best inspiration and there's not much better in life than a good adventure!
